Petron Engg bags Rs 100-cr order from HPCL-Mittal Energy

Petron Engineering Construction on Thursday said it has bagged an Rs 100.23 crore order from HPCL-Mittal Energy for its Bathinda refinery. The company has received an order for heater works in HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd’s Guru Gobind Singh Refinery Project at Bathinda in Punjab. Petron Engineering Construction was quoting at Rs 251, up Rs 9.80, or 4.06%. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 279.90

NTPC forays into renewable power

The state-owned power utility NTPC Ltd will enter into renewable power generation through a joint venture with foreign power and financial firms, a company statement said on Tuesday. The joint venture company will primarily concentrate on wind power, mini and micro hydro-electric power, with NTPC holding 40 percent of the equity.

NTPC was quoting at Rs 180.15, up Rs 5, or 2.85%. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 181.60 and an intraday low of Rs 174.65.

Promoter Ravi Sheth increased his stake in the company from 9.09 per cent to 9.39 per cent early July. The stock was at Rs 440 levels at the time, but has since dropped significantly. There has not been any abnormal activity otherwise in the counter during the past fortnight. The company has reduced its non-double hull tanker fleet by selling off two product carriers and it is now focusing on platform supply vessels. It has placed an order for two state-of-the-art construction support vessels to be delivered in September 2010 and January 2011. The company has thus displayed its intent to tap the growing sub-sea market, both in India and abroad. The intended capex in the shipping and offshore business over the next three years is about Rs 3,000 crore. Sustained crude oil prices and tanker shortages could help Great Eastern post another year of impressive numbers.
