2007 saw investors making big bucks with 9 out of 10 major public issues helping rake in the moolah. But 2008 has been quite the opposite! Telecom Minister, A Raja has requested the BSNL Trade Unions to have healthy discussions on the impending BSNL IPO.The company, which has 70 million subscribers, is valued at USD 100 billion and a 10% dilution of stake could fetch Rs 400 billion, reports agency sources. The government has targeted to raise a whopping Rs40,000 crore ($10 billion) in the country’s largest-ever initial share offer through a sale of stake in state-owned telecom firm Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), but a decision is likely to be made only after talks with trade unions.

Private sector railway wagon manufacturer, Titagarh Wagon is entering the capital market with its initial public offering of 23,83,768 shares of Rs 10 for cash at a price to be determined through 100 per cent book building process.
