Sensex ends with marginal gains realty metal gain

The markets stated the day in red taking cues from its US peers. In the span of the day the market rose snapping the losses of the previous two sessions to close in green. Volatility is witnessed throughout the day as the markets are nearing the expiry of the February series. After declining for the last few sessions Realty index closed in green, it was supported by the Metal and Healthcare indices which helped the benchmark index to close in green. Sensex ended the day with a 64 points or 0.40 precentage point gain. Nifty ended the day at 4875.75 closing up by 19.35 points or 0.40 percentage points. On the European front the stocks rose for the 10th time in 12 days as better-thanestimated earnings from Heineken NV and Carlsberg A/S overshadowed an unexpected drop in German business confidence. Asian shares and U.S. index futures gained.
